Abstract

This paper examines the theological understanding of eternal salvation in the teachings of the Catholic Church, Focusing on heaven, hell, and purgatory, and their implications for the faith education of the faithful. This study is motivated by the decreasing attention of the faithful to the teachings of eschatology in modern life. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various theological sources, Church documents, and the latest scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that eschatology is not only about the end times, but is the basis of Christian hope and human moral responsibility. Heaven is understood as eternal communion with God, hell as eternal separation due to rejection ogf God’s love, and purgatory as a process of purification for the saved soul. These teachings have important implications for faith education, especially in shaping moral awareness, spirituality, and life orientation toward eternal salvation. Therefore, the integration of eschatological teachings in contextual faith education is very important.
